Hello Frank,
In reply to your questions the clutch started to slip under load at around 22,000 miles. I took it to a repair garage and was told that it had been wrongly assembled previously and had worn out prematurely. The disks had to be bought seperately at £9 each, but once assembled by the garage the clutch still slipped and the garage told me that the problem must be deeper in the engine and that it needed to be stripped down. This was obviously going to be expensive so I took a look myself and found that my manual says there should be 5 fat disks and one thin but the garage had fitted 5 thin and one fat. I rang the local Suzuki Dealership who agreed with the garage so now I'm wondering if the manual or the dealership's records could be wrong. I really don't want to strip down the engine if I can sort the problem by reassembling the plates.
